What the role is

To support and check flights being built with final sign off and checks being completed prior to flight departure. You will travel on a daily basis supporting and assisting the team’s operation from unit to airside at Gatwick. You are responsible for the timely delivery of our catering services for our customers in accordance with customer specifications and contractual agreements. You may be required to assist with the loading of the aircraft, liaising with cabin crew and completing paperwork to specific standards.

What you’ll be doing will include

Complete full check of flights prior to departure from Gatwick to ensure all items are produced, packed, assembled and dispatched in line with customer requirements.

Act as dnata Catering representative in dealings with cabin crew on board the aircraft, ensuring that the necessary sign off procedures are complied with

Resolve any catering problems raised by the cabin crew

Ensure accuracy of the necessary paperwork required by the airline

Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of specific airline requirements e.g. re-usage of food

Undertake temperature checks as per airline requirements

Undertake galley packing with drivers and ensure items are correctly stowed in line with customer requirements

Undertake any ad hoc duties that may be airline specific or a requirement of the Airline Account Manager, ensuring effective account management

Ensure compliance with company security, food hygiene and health and safety policies and procedures inclusive of those laid out by the airport operator

Pro-actively communicate with internal and external customers, line managers and colleagues regarding operational issues

Safeguard, maintain and foster good relationships with our customers

Maintain a clean, smart appearance with your company uniform worn at all time

What you’ll have will include

Experience in the airline catering industry

Possess a full UK driving license

Excellent customer service skills

Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written, with experience of professionally liaising with colleagues, managers and external customers

Ability to solve problems quickly using own initiative and work within strict deadlines

Ability to work under pressure

To be self disciplined, reliable and accurate with a keen eye for detail

Able to work alone and in a team

Flexibility in working hours
