The Vacancy

Are you passionate about empowering older adults to live independently while staying connected to a vibrant community?

At NCHA we are looking for a Scheme Officer for our new Independent Living Service for Older People in Clifton.

Farnborough Court is the new independent living older person’s scheme for people over 55 years. This is fabulous opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to live a happy and fulfilling life. This is a rewarding and varied role where every day is challenging but worth it. Providing “More homes, great services, and better lives” is what we aim to achieve at NCHA. This new scheme is expected to handover in February with the first customers moving in from March onwards. It’s sure to be a huge challenge to let 56 units and set up a brand new project but it will also be hugely rewarding and a brilliant opportunity to develop your existing skills!

About the Role

As a Scheme Officer, you will be the first point of contact for residents, ensuring the smooth running of the unit and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Your role will involve:

Regularly contacting tenants to ensure their wellbeing; assisting them to find relevant social events and activities in the wider community.
Explaining tenant responsibilities in accordance with the tenancy agreement.
Enabling service users to make informed choices through joint and recorded risk assessments.
Maintain tenant records through NCHA’s IT systems or paper records; sharing confidentially with work colleagues and other relevant people where appropriate to provide consistent housing management.
Monitoring health and safety and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Assessing and reporting necessary repair work in communal areas; reporting emergency repairs in accordance with procedures.
Providing occasional cover to schemes in the Scheme Managers absence.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Has a genuine interest in working with older people.
Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Is organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
Understands Health and Safety requirements including COSHH regulations & risk assessments.
Ideally has experience in housing, social care, or a similar role (though training will be provided). This role will be 17.5 hours based over 3 to 5 days with flexibility to your working pattern to ensure a great work life balance.

If you’re ready to help us create a place where older adults can thrive, we’d love to hear from you!

Let’s work together to make independent living truly rewarding.
