Quality Standards and Governance * To work with the Senior Medical Leadership Team to ensure governance processes are in place to implement, support and monitor professional standards and patient safety requirements, to respond and comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. * Ensure any changes to clinical practice as a result of IT implementations are in accordance with evidence-based practice, as well as organisation policies and guidelines including ethical decision-making on behalf of patients and staff. Corporate Responsibilities * Responsible, with the Senior Medical Leadership Team, for ensuring the continued development, modernisation and delivery of high quality patient-centred acute hospital and community services to the population of the West Midlands and tertiary services nationally and internationally. * Responsible for ensuring the organisation performs effectively to meet its clinical governance, quality, staffing and activity objectives. Additional specific role requirements * Provide a point of contact for the media on medical related issues as appropriate and develop positive relations with local media, enhancing public education where appropriate. * The post holder may be required to undertake other duties and/or responsibilities not specified within the job description but within the general scope of the post, as determined by the Chief Strategy & Digital Officer.
