We are looking for a highly competent and versatile Senior Biomedical Scientist with a strong background in Cellular Pathology to join our laboratory team.

The successful candidate will have in-depth subject knowledge and a proven track record in histological work, problem-solving, and staff supervision. You will bring a pragmatic approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain focus and perform effectively under pressure.


This role presents a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in quality management and training. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the main laboratory, including embedding, microtomy, routine staining, manual tinctorial stains, and quality control.


Key Responsibilities:

§ Oversee and carry out routine laboratory tasks such as embedding, microtomy, routine staining, and manual tinctorial stains.

§ Ensure that all quality control measures are followed to maintain the high standards of our laboratory services.

§ Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, supporting their training and development in line with best practices.

§ Collaborate with the laboratory team to solve complex problems and improve laboratory processes.

§ Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including ISO 15189 accreditation.

§ Develop and implement quality management initiatives to enhance laboratory operations.

· Extensive experience in histological techniques, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control.

· Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to laboratory management.

Experience:

· Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology with a minimum of 1 years of experience. (Desired)

· Extensive experience in histological techniques, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control. (Essential)

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to train and share knowledge with colleagues. (Desired)

· Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to laboratory management. (Desired)
