Summary

Job Overview
-Mitie on Ascension Island are seeking a dynamic, fully qualified vehicle mechanic to be part of a small team providing vehicle maintenance and fault rectification in support to our vehicle fleet.



Main Duties

-Responsible for Carrying out 1st, 2nd and 3rd line scheduled vehicle maintenance on the vast array of military platforms on the Ascension Island Base.

-Maintain engineering standards and practices at all time, ensuring that maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with the customers' relevant procedures and polices.

-Ensure documentation is raised for all tasks and completed to a high standard, and recorded on the JAMES Management Information System.

-Provide specialist Mechanical and technical support, advice and statistical information to the client and external agencies when required.

-Work collaboratively with the MTMS Supervisor to ensure all vehicles are prepared in a timely manner for MEI inspection.

-Carrying out on-call breakdown cover on a rotational basis for the vehicle fleet.

-When required act as a vehicle certifier on the JAMES Management Information System and to act as a supervisor when required during periods of absence.

-Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance, COSHH and Risk Assessments in accordance with processes and procedures laid down in the company SOP`s.

What we are looking for
-Have the ability to work independently with a flexible can-do attitude, work under pressure, and cope with last minute changes to the flying programme, including flight delays.

-Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, RAF, aircrew and customers at all levels.

-Level 3 City & Guilds vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent is essential.

-Full clean HGV C+E is essential.

-Good Knowledge and understanding of the JAMES system is desirable.

-Must be prepared to undertake additional duties in support of contract delivery as and when required.

-Ability to obtain Security clearance.

-Medically fit, CP2 colour perception is essential.
