We are seeking a dynamic Variable Hours Lecturer in Game & Digital Design (Art & Development Pathways) to join our Creative & Digital Arts team at the Aylesbury Campus. If you are an experienced digital artist or game designer with strong digital skills, a drive to innovate, share your knowledge, and shape the future of game development, this is the perfect role for you!

As a Creative Lecturer you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, industry-relevant teaching of digital skills across a variety of creative courses and Level 3 Game Design programmes, focusing on Game Art and Development pathways.
  • Inspire students through engaging lessons on traditional art techniques, digital development, and industry-standard practices.
  • Create innovative course materials, including project briefs, schemes of work, and interactive learning activities.
  • Support students' growth by helping them refine their creative skills, digital knowledge, build professional portfolios, and prepare for careers in the gaming industry, digital careers or further education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent quality in teaching, assessment, and curriculum delivery.
  • Take part of quality assurance processes including internal verification & standardisation activities.
  • Be responsible for student marking, assessment and tracking.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Art, Game Design, or a related creative field.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one (supported by the College).
  • Experience & Skills:
  • Strong practical digital experience with industry-standard tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and the Adobe Suite.
  • Strong illustrative, design, and concept art skills with a portfolio showcasing diverse and high-quality work.
  • Ability to teach both traditional and digital art techniques, guiding students from concept to final production.
  • Passion for inspiring young creatives and helping them realise their potential.

Taking Teaching Further

The College actively engages with the Education & Training Foundation's Taking Teaching Further scheme to recruit industry professionals to teach within Further Education.

As industry professionals offer our students industry experience and insight we support our unqualified teachers to learn 'on the job'. You will be given full support throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. After completion you can choose to move be onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment.
