Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer - West Midlands - Global Facilities Management Organisation: Blue Chip Commercial & Real Estate
Are you an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer, looking for a mobile role? If so this may be the position for you!
CBW Staffing Solutions have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join a leading facilities management organisation, on a permanent basis.
This role will predominantly be covering Birmingham and the West Midlands area.
Package:
- Competitive salary between £45,000 - £47,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Van & fuel card supplied (personal use is permitted)
- FULL travel time paid
- Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week), Overtime rate Mon - Fri 1.33x Standard Rate & Sat - Sun 1.66x Standard Rate
- Participation in an ‘out of hours’ on call rota (to be confirmed)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Generous workplace pension scheme
- Access to online benefits portal, 4x death in service, offer of opting into private healthcare, annual performance related bonus, sliding scale of sick pay up to a maximum of 65 days a year after 6 years of service
- Training, development & progression opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Servicing and maintenance of a variety of commercial gas appliances and systems, including boilers, heaters, and pipework
- Perform routine inspections and safety checks to ensure gas systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with industry standards
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in gas appliances, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum safety
- Conduct gas leak tests and carbon monoxide checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and contractors to coordinate complex repairs and system upgrades
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to promote a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer or similar role within the facilities management industry
- Gas Safe Register certification and relevant qualifications (e.g. ACS, COCN1, CODNCO1)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong knowledge of commercial gas appliances, systems, and regulations
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and customer service skills
