Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to employ an Academic Mentor who is a fluent Spanish speaker or a native speaker. The ideal candidate would also be able to speak some French.
You will work closely with our dedicated Subject Leader to identify students with gaps in their learning across all years and then work with these students in small groups and on an individual basis to move them forward.
What the school offers its staff
Northfleet School for Girls is a vibrant and caring school with a great community feel. Over recent years we have been growing rapidly (54% increase in student roll since 2017) and we believe this is due to the following key areas:
• A real passion to develop the whole student as well as achieve excellent academic progress
• A dedicated staffing team who really care and a clear commitment by leaders to staff wellbeing
• Great student behaviour and engagement, allowing staff and students to flourish
Why work at our school?
• Excellent student behaviour and engagement, allowing teachers to deliver the best possible learning
• A clear commitment to staff wellbeing through our wellbeing charter, including workload reviews, wellbeing meeting slots, paid staff social organiser, wellbeing spaces and free use of our professional fitness suite
• Opportunity to be involved in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including clubs, trips, DofE, Forest School and the Northfleet Community Farm
• Outstanding facilities, including our community farm, fitness suite, recording studio, expansive library, new MUGA and professional performing arts spaces.
• Very strong use of IT across the school including 1-1 laptop scheme and interactive touchscreens in all classrooms.
• Performance management reviews take place annually in September with the opportunity for a performance related pay increase once an employee is eligible i.e. has been employed long enough for evidence to be provided
Commitment to safeguarding
Northfleet School for Girls and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check. For any candidate who is shortlisted, an online search will be conducted in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 statutory guidance.
