Summary
The primary function of the Training Officer is to manage CCATs training delivery outputs. Supported by a small team of dedicated freelance instructors and full time employees you will plan and execute an annual programme of National Governing Body accredited AT courses, concentrations and expeditions for Army Cadets aged 15 plus and CFAVs (Cadet Force Adult Volunteers).
Responsibility will include developing and maintaining CCATs training delivery and safety management policies and procedures, providing day to day support to the delivery centres and developing an appropriate team of freelance instructors.
Where appropriately qualified you will be required to course direct certain NGB courses, conduct training assurance visits, instructor moderations and deliver CPD activities.
Key Responsibilities
In accordance with current legislation and Army Cadet AT (Adventurous Training) policy, plan and deliver an annual programme of AT courses, concentrations and expeditions for Cadets and CFAVs as directed by HQ RC Cadets Branch.
Recruit, manage and mentor a suitably qualified and experienced team of AT freelance instructors to enable the delivery of CCAT activities.
Manage and deliver CCAT AT Instructor Induction training, conduct first line assurance of training delivery, and instructor moderations.
Ensure all CCAT training safety and delivery related policies and procedures are in place and compliant with current legislation and Army Cadets policies.
Ensure CCAT training delivery is compliant with current legislation, best practice and Army Cadet policy.
Enable the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding (emotional & physical safety) of Cadets and CFAVs whilst at CCAT.
Course direct a range of NGB awards and qualifications at a variety of training locations.
Provide CCAT Centre Managers with course delivery guidance and day to day line management.
Liaise with the CCAT support team and Head of Establishment to ensure training is suitably resourced.
Manage the Army Cadets / CCAT NGB Providerships and represent our organisational interests at meetings and conferences.
Support the Chain of Command (CoC) with AT SME requests for Information, reporting and incident/accident investigation.
Support the Cadets Branch AT Assurance and the Adventurous Training Safety Regulator with second and third-party lines of assurance.
Own and maintain the policy and procedures for the delivery of Army Cadet Mobile Climbing Tower site specific training.
Represent the interests of CCAT internally at meetings, and conferences with external organisations.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) AT support to CTC Frimley Park, HQ RC Cadets Branch and deputise for Staff Officer AT as and when required.
