Summary
Location: The Bale House, Hastings Country Park, TN35 4AD.
Contract: Zero hours
Salary: NMW up to £11.90 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Various shifts available over the busy Christmas period and can offer up to 40 hours per week. You will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays.
The Bale House Cafe is a small, but very busy destination café located within Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve known for its outstanding views, beauty and rare flora and fauna. The Bale House is the first public straw bale building constructed in Hastings and provides an exciting facility for visitors to the park to find out about this special landscape. Whether for eating, meeting, walking or learning The Bale House is a place for everyone, with things to discover every day.
This post will contribute towards developing a vibrant community café providing a comfortable, welcoming and inclusive meeting place for residents and visitors to enjoy good quality, healthy and affordable refreshments and shared activities throughout the year.
You will provide a welcoming front of house service, providing excellent customer service and quality food and beverages to local community and visitors from around the country and world. In addition, to welcome visitors to the nature reserve you may be required to answer questions about the local area and support them in finding the information they need when visitor centre volunteers and staff are unavailable. Full training will be provided.
