Summary
The urology service at Imperial is pleased to be able to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for an advanced nurse practitioners (ANP) in Endourology at Charing Cross Hospital. The successful candidates will work very closely with the urology multi-disciplinary team and undertake activities for the service.
You will be an experienced band 7/8a practitioner, acting within your professional boundaries. You will develop the skills to independently undertake flexible cystoscopies and lithotripsy provision. You will use your knowledge and skills to provide expert, efficient and safe patient care whilst under guidance of a Consultant. You will demonstrate expert clinical judgement and critical decision-making skills based upon evidence-based practice and work collaboratively with consultants and the wider urology team.
You will be highly skilled individuals who are working towards a Masters level qualification, who are also forward thinking to step up to this challenge. You will be supported where applicable in gaining further skills in the Advanced Clinical Practice pathway. All candidates must be able to provide evidence of a strong commitment to the provision of quality driven, evidence-based practice in order to enhance the patient experience.

Should the successful candidates for this role require a period of competency-based training to develop skills in flexible cystoscopy and lithotripsy, then the recruitment offer will be at band 7 with an up banding to band 8A after competency sign off.
• The benign service would benefit from a similar model with an ANP delivering nurse led diagnostics and renal stone treatment within the outpatient department. The ANP will use advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to manage patients with renal stones. The post-holder would perform clinical assessments, reviewing imaging and performing flexible cystoscopies and lithotripsy treatment for those with diagnosed stone disease.
• The post-holder will also be a pivotal source of education and training for both medical and nursing teams within urology. The ANP will provide leadership and implementation of service directives and also provides a stepping stone into advanced practice within the benign service.
