Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Employment status: employed

Hours per week: We are flexible and have no requirements for specific days or times. Funded hours are 418 over the year. We would prefer these to be less in term time and more in the school holidays for example… 5 hours a week in term time (these can be averaged out as 20 hours every 4 weeks to suit) 17.15 hours a week in the school holidays (again, averaged out to suit) However, we are happy to discuss this with any interested applicants.

Hourly pay rate: £12.50

Our daughter needs assistance accessing the community doing activities such as shopping, walks, bowling, crazy golf, cinema and days out. At home activities could include games, puzzles, reading, painting and working on independence skills such as baking and meal preparation. She is calm and kind with a wicked sense of humour. She loves horses, dogs, jigsaw puzzles, top trumps, theme parks, baking and watching youtube. She also finds burps and farts hilarious - you have been warned! There are elements of personal care in this role. We expect this role to be as a supportive friend rather than a parent figure.

Duties include:

Companionship
Dressing / undressing
This is a companion role, it's about our daughter having someone to spend time with who is not a parent. It would be great for some independence tasks to be worked on such as travelling in the community, interacting with her community ie shops, bus timetables. Supporting her with her cooking skills, her helping round the house skills and, if needed in the time you're with her, building on her self care skills such as dressing and undressing.

Toilet accidents are rare but they may occur

Candidate qualities:

Reliable with good timekeeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Experience of working with young adults with learning difficulties
Kind with a good sense of humour
