Summary
Are you passionate about supporting 16-19 students to be successful in their FE setting and achieve their aspirations?
Our Inclusive Learning curriculum has an opportunity for you to help shape the future for their learners by providing support for Safeguarding/Social and Emotional issues that may impact on their learning and achievement.
You will be the first point of contact for both staff and students who raise safeguarding concerns, liaising closely with the college safeguarding team to ensure that these are dealt with in line with New College Swindon safeguarding policies. You will also liaise closely with the Mental Health and Wellbeing team to provide appropriate social and emotional support, including interventions, or to signpost to any outside agencies as required. You will be part of the Additional Learning Support team working with Inclusive Learning across both the North Star and Queens Drive Campuses.
To apply for this role, you will need a recognised Level 3 youth, community, mentoring or guidance qualification. You will need experience working with students with a range of LDD including challenging behaviour, mental ill health, SCF, Pervasive Development Disorders and SpLD and how to deal with safeguarding concerns. You will also need to be an excellent communicator, advocate for students and demonstrate empathy when working with young people.
