Summary
MAIN DUTIES
-To respond swiftly and safely to all emergency calls and requests for assistance and following the correct procedures in the event of an incident until arrival of external emergency services and then assist them
-Provide emergency medical care as to the sites requirements up until the arrival of external emergency services if they are required
-Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness, repairing and testing as required to approved standards and procedures to undertake checks on emergency equipment provided for ERT use
-Take part in continuous training and learning programmes by attending lectures, exercises, simulated incidents, practice drill sessions, security duties and other forms of training to achieve and maintain competence levels
-Maintain a level of personal fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of an Emergency Response Team member
-Perform all required site training duties to the client's specifications
-Conduct internal / external security patrols, checking for signs of damage, vandalism or theft
-Operate the security control room /monitoring CCTV systems and following procedures in the event of normal duties and /or an emergency
-Undertake routine administration tasks as required in order to ensure all entries to records are correct and kept up to date
-Operate all company/client vehicles and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
-Operate all equipment and tools appropriately
-Perform general maintenance work of equipment and facilities
-Communicating effectively with colleagues, client personnel and Mitie Management
-Ability to follow and carry out instructions
PERSON SPECIFICTIONS
-Whole-time/retained fire-fighter or industrial fire-fighter qualification
-
-Excellent timekeeping and attendance
-Flexible in terms of hours and shifts, available to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, public holidays and weekends either on a set shift pattern or on a relief basis, usually working a minimum of 42 average hours per week in line with business demands. (Shift pattern 2 days 2 nights 4 off)
-Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and be subject to random testing throughout employment
-Pass all required security and back ground checks, willing to undergo a 5-year employment check and able to account for a full 5-year history, providing evidence of all employment, unemployment, training etc during this period in line with strict vetting criteria
-Able to provide I.D documentation proving identity, right to work and all previous and current addresses in line with strict vetting criteria
-Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

-Front line SIA licence desirable
-Full drivers licence is a requirement

-Fire service vocational qualification

-Current pass certificate for fire-fighter physical fitness test (treadmill test or equivalent) - desirable
-Hazmat certificated
