Job Title Production Planner

Days and Hours Monday – Thursday 8-16.15 and Friday 8-15

Contract Personnel Norwich are recruiting on behalf of their client based in Great Yarmouth who are looking to hire a Production Planner to join their well-established team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will responsible for developing a production schedule for one or multiple products, detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion dates.

Main responsibilities:

• Liaise effectively with Production Managers and Group Purchasing Manager (based at sister company in Havant) ensuring smooth and effective running of planning.
• To work with the planning team to review requirements for daily, weekly and monthly production output.
• Review of the customer order book and looking at impact on planning and operational requirements.
• To maintain and review capacity data to ensure correct levels of manpower.
• To ensure the planning system is controlled to ensure on time in full delivery of all orders -This includes the review of current planning practices.
• To be aware of operational constraints required to meet our Order book.
• Communicating issues and opportunities.
• To manage the NPI process to ensure the requirements of planning are maintained.
• To monitor WIP variance reporting and make the necessary adjustments to manage costs.
• To take part in stocktake activities
• To ensure the integrity of system data is maintained.
• To ensure continuity of supply by reviewing material requirements and capacity requirements that meet or exceeds company requirements.
• To plan efficiently and wisely, achieving the best value for the company.
• To manage inventory so as to give the best possible service.
• To maintain sound co-operative relationships with other departments to ensure the effective operation of the company overall.
• Preparation of reports to agreed timescales.

Working with the leadership team to ensure all Planning objectives are met, including:

• To assist in the effective introduction of new products
• To safeguard the company’s cost structure
• To maintain the correct quality – inventory – value balance
• To meet required delivery dates to ensure customer deliveries are met.
• Essential Qualities:
• Be proactive in approach to managing tasks.
• Ability to manage and work to deadlines.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Technical manufacturing background

Salary is negotiable depending on experience
