Summary
Working with the Preschool Management Committee you will be responsible for the pre-school staff and volunteers and the day to day running of our small and friendly village Preschool. You will provide a safe and stimulating environment, high quality education and care for pre-school children and contribute towards fulfilling legal and statutory requirements.
The role involves:
- Overall responsibility for the provision of safe education of the highest quality
- To ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are fulfilled, including child protection laws, OFSTED, policy & procedure and all record keeping
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintaining at all times that the children and team have the appropriate resources and support
- Leading the team from the front and ensuring that staff are motivated and happy in their roles; including daily monitoring of the quality of teaching; regular staff meetings and appraisals; identifying training needs and ensuring continuous staff development
- Team member recruitment in partnership with the Committee
- Parent/Carer liaison regarding the curriculum, exchanging information regarding children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement.
- Marketing and fundraising in partnership with the Committee.
- Working together with the Committee, OFSTED and other professionals as necessary, ensuring that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented and reports provided where required; this will include regular Committee Meetings
- Management of the Pre-School fees system and funding applications
- Performing all childcare duties when support is required
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Chair of the Committee in accordance with the Pre-School's business plan/objectives
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 4 years working within a similar setting
Experience of managing a team
Excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum
Minimum NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent relevant qualification.
The hours of work will be 08:30- 15:15 Monday - Friday, term time only.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
