Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to gain or extend your clinical experience in Young Adult Hip’s in the unique and supportive environment of Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. As a valued member of the team you will be included in the educational and training activities of the units and will be offered study leave. Clinical research, audit and quality improvement activities will also be encouraged.
This post does not attract any on-calls, but there is opportunity to join the on-call rota if you would like to.
Furthermore although this is not a resident post, there is opportunity to apply for on-site accommodation to help facilitate potential move to the area for the successful candidate.
RNOH is a national tertiary hospital that provides a comprehensive range of neuromusculoskeletal health care ranging from acute spinal injury and complex bone tumour management to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation. There are extensive services for children, which the Trust plans to expand over the coming years.
The Young Adult Hip Service is predominately based on the Stanmore site, with all elective surgery being completed onsite at Stanmore. Some outpatient clinics are held at our central London facility on Bolsover Street.
The fellow will be work in close collaboration with Mr Aresh Hashemi-Nejad, Mr Tahir Khan and Mr Neil Segaren. There will be joint clinics and joint operating sessions in addition to some independent but supervised operating and outpatient sessions. The fellow will be expected to supervise MDT and participate in audit research, and the general provision of the service within the unit and ensure the smooth running of day to day activities of the firm.
