Summary

Chelford Village Preschool are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Pre-School Assistant for our wonderful committee led village Preschool.

Level 3 qualification in Early Years is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a passionate and caring assistant to work within a small team to deliver exciting learning opportunities for children aged 2 to 4 years old. To provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

The role involves:
• To work under direction from the manager and work as part of a team
• To work as a key person
• Modelling the skills and behaviours that safeguard and support children
• Planning and delivering learning activities, recording observations and reporting to parents and manager on children’s progress.
• Building positive partnerships with parents
• Maintaining a high standard of care and service

Qualification and Experience:
· Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years is desirable but not essential.
· Experience of working with young children ideally in a preschool/nursery setting, and knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.

As part of our commitment to the professional development of our assistants, we would support the successful applicant to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification if required.

Position details:
Start date: January 2025.
Working 6 months under probation

Part time role: Term time only/School Hours. Working Day 9am - 3.30pm. We require someone to work 2, 3 or 4 days per week, to suit the candidate.

Hourly rate starting at £12.07 phr. for non-qualified staff, £12.62 for level 3 qualified staff.
Hourly rate to be reviewed in April 2025 in line with proposed increase to minimum wage
