Enhanced DBS disclosure required
Role provides psychological advice and addresses the LA backlog. Psychologists need to be able to work face to face in Gloucestershire. All I.T equipment will be provided. Under the supervision of the Principal and Senior Educational Psychologists, to be responsible for the provision of a high quality psychological support service to schools, settings and families in a designated area of the Local Authority. Must be able to offer a minimum of two Advices per month
Key Responsibilities:
Support schools to deliver the graduated approach for children, young people and young adults aged 0-25, who may have Special Educational Needs, through systemic work, casework, delivering training and with knowledge of evidence informed interventions.
May also support others about whom there may be a concern as outlined in the Code of Practice 2014.
Carry out psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process.
Lead on an area of interest within the service and contribute to the development of joined up working with other relevant professionals and agencies. This could contribute to the development of expertise in areas that schools would wish to purchase.
Undertake personal performance review and planned professional development and to contribute to the development of the Service.
Qualifications:
An Honours Degree in Psychology (or equivalent acceptable for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society), a recognised teaching qualification, at least two years qualified classroom teaching experience and a Masters qualification in Educational Psychology.
HCPC Registered
Knowledge:
Knowledge of relevant legislation as it affects schools and early years’ settings in general and EP work in particular.
Evidence of having developed special interests within the field of Psychology.
Experience:
Experience of working as an Educational Psychologist
Recent experience of providing LA psychological advice
Post qualification experience working within a statutory organisation.
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Able to work on statutory timeframes.
