Broxburn Academy is a six-year comprehensive school serving the areas of Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station, Pumpherston and Dechmont. We work closely with our cluster primaries which include Broxburn P.S, Kirkhill P.S, Uphall P.S, Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community P.S to ensure a consistent and holistic approach.

Our current school roll is 872.

We are looking for an Advanced Pupil Support Worker to contribute to providing a safe, secure and inclusive school environment.

The Post Holder will work with and support a young person with ASD on a one to one basis. They are part of the school team involved in implementing school strategies designed to improve pupil performance in the following areas:

Progress in learning and attainment
Personal and social development

P7/S1 transition support
Behaviour
Relationships with peers
Relationships with staff

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
