Summary
Please refer to the attached Job description for a comprehensive list of responsibilities, which includes: Inspect, prepare, assemble, prime and calibrate the cardiopulmonary bypass machine, extracorporeal circuit and related equipment for adult, paediatric and neonatal practice. Work as an autonomous expert practitioner, taking responsibility for organising and delegating multiple techniques required during a single procedure e.g.cardiopulmonary bypass, cell salvage, blood gases and intra-aortic balloon pumps, ECMO. The post holder would be expected to have a wide range of exposure to specialist clinical techniques and procedures seen in complex adult cases and experience in Paediatrics. This is likely to have been obtained over a significant number of years. Take the lead as the primary Perfusionist on call i.e 1st on call. Implement education and training programmes to facilitate continuing professional development within the department.
