Summary
Public Health Manager - Health Protection in Westmorland
This is a part time temporary role on ongoing basis.
Experienced HCA with significant experience and competence in the principles of infection prevention and control, outbreak management and IPC audit. The hours are Mon-Weds 9-5pm
To work within our Health Protection team (within the Council's Public Health Team) under the supervision of the (1 WTE) Health Protection Manager and (0.6 WTE) Health Protection Specialist Nurse.
The main requirements of the role are to
- Manage the team's email inbox, responding to enquiries or escalating to senior team as required.
- Providing advice to residential care settings on the relevant infection Prevention guidance to support in the management of outbreaks of infectious disease (flu, covid, gastroenteritis and scabies).
- To visit residential settings to carry out IPC audits using a national audit tool (and following training and support). To write up and appropriately present the findings of the audit to the care provider and essential stakeholders.
- Support the HP Manager with administrative tasks.
