Summary
Senior Care Assistant Day Shift
33 hours per week
£13.37 – £13.48 per hour
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Care Assistant at Picktree Court Care Home in Chester le Street. Picktree Court is family run and caters for 62 older persons requiring residential care on the ground floor and first floor, with a further 26 beds on the second floor providing nursing care, all to an exceptionally high standard.
You will provide nursing care, comfort, and companionship to the highest standards for elderly residents and be part of the Premier Care Homes Group. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for the effective running of the floor.
Responsibilities include:
• Receive and deliver hand overs.
• Administration of medication and completion of appropriate documents.
• Stock checking controlled drugs.
• Supervise carers in their daily duties.
• Liaise with GP’s and other health professionals.
• Logging of appropriate information in relevant documents.
• Care planning.
• Assist in general daily living activities.
• Ensuring the effective running of the floor.
Applicants must be aged 18+ as will be providing personal care. A caring nature and a genuine interest in helping others is essential. Must be able to work using your own initiative without supervision over a 7 day rota. Previous senior care experience is preferable. NVQ3 in Health and Social Care preferred but not essential, as we provide all our staff with a wide range of training, plus access to Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
