Summary


As part of our Ot Week celebrations, Whipps Cross Hospital is providing an exciting opportunity and challenge to be supported into a Band 6 OT post via our bespoke in-house Band 5 developmental programme that is supported by our on-site Practice Development Team.

We are excited to offer you an accelerated training and education program to aid in your development as an occupational therapist. You will join us as a qualified band 5 and once you successfully complete the relevant training and evidence agreed competencies you will transition into one of our Band 6 OT posts.

We want to help develop your career and make you ready for your future to being a Band 6 Occupational Therapist. In addition to the bespoke Band 5 to Band 6 development programme, we have excellent senior/junior staff ratio, post graduate education, a structured in-service training program and a well-established supervision and appraisal system. The department has integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy management with senior physiotherapists offering operational and clinical support.

This fantastic opportunity is available for individuals who:

· Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy, or are completing their degree in the next 3 months

· Have State Registration through the Health Care Professions Council, or will be applying for this after completing their studies

· Are already a band 5 OT with 9 months experience in the acute/hospital setting and are looking to relocate

We offer an excellent range of rotations including orthopaedics, surgery, medicine, Older People’s Services (OPS) and Emergency Therapy Team (ETT). Once the successful candidate has completed their development there are options to move into rotations in Stroke Pathway (including Neuroscience) and Hand Therapy (Outpatient services).
