Summary
Under the supervision of the Nurse in Charge the Staff Nurse will be responsible for delivering safe and efficient care to patients attending the Hand Trauma Unit. This will be from assessment, wound examination and dressings, to discharge.For patients returning for surgery the Staff Nurse will ensure their safe preparation and discharge. When working within the procedure room, on completion of required competencies, the Staff Nurse will practice in either a Scrub Nurse role, or Circulating Nurse role, providing perioperative care for those patients requiring surgery.
