Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Manager to join us at Badbury Park Primary School in the New Year. This term-time role is ideal for an experienced chef with a passion for crafting exceptional dining experiences that inspire and energize young minds.Badbury Park Primary School moved into a state-of-the-art new building in November 2020. We currently have 10 classes plus a nursery, and our kitchen has been fully open for just over 12 months.Our school is part of The Blue Kite Academy Trust, a growing family of primary schools based in Swindon. As the school's Catering Manager, you will be wholly responsible for the day to day running of our kitchen, the preparation of nutritious food and the delivery of breakfast and lunch services. You will be responsible for planning a balanced and nutritious menu, organising theme days, ordering stock, budget management, line management of kitchen staff and ensuring compliance with food standards and food hygiene regulations.
You must be passionate about food, sustainability and reducing food miles and be committed to providing an excellent dining experience for our children; the detail around food safety, H&S and allergen laws will be second nature to you, and you will combine this all with enthusiasm and good humour!
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• High quality cooking skills
• Experience of managing a commercial kitchen
• High standards of hygiene and food preparation
• An understanding of the importance of healthy eating and food quality
• The ability to embrace new ideas and initiatives
• Knowledge of specialist diets for health conditions and cultural and religious backgrounds
• Great team skills
• Patience and empathy with children
