Summary

Be Part of Our Team
Day Care Host, The Filo Project, Poole and surrounding areas.
The Filo Project is a not-for-profit enterprise offering high quality, small group day care for older people.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for compassionate, empathetic and versatile people who would like to use their home to host a group of 4 older people for up to 2 full days per week, depending on the need in the area.

What will you be doing?

You will typically be active with your group between 9.30am and 4.30pm, starting with collecting your clients from their homes. You will then develop and lead the day, dependent on the capacities and interests of the members of your group.

You'll need to be creative and adaptable to the changing needs of your group. Examples of group activities include playing games, listening to music, baking or simply enjoying a conversation.

During the day you will also provide a freshly cooked two course lunch for your group. This is an important part of the day. We don’t expect restaurant level food, but for some of your guests this may be the only hot meal they eat in the week, so a reasonable level of home cookery would be great. We'll give you all the information you need about dietary requirements, likes and dislikes.

Working for The Filo Project is interesting, satisfying and occasionally challenging! You will need to be physically and emotionally able to work alone with your group for a full day. You will be well supported in your role, by your Area Coordinator, our Wellbeing team, and nearby hosts.
