Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Friarfield House.

You will work on a casual basis, when work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation on Integrated Children's Service & Community Justice to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work.

Requirements

You will have a degree in Social Work, CQSW, Dip Social Work, CSS.

Responsibilities

You will provide an effective high quality service to individuals and their families. You will use professional social work skills to assess risk and need and provide supervisory, preventative and rehabilitative approaches to reducing reoffending. You will undertake a range of statutory duties for which the Social Work Department is responsible. You will represent the service in a range of settings including Court.

The Individual

​You will have experience of working adults, children and families and collaborative work with other agencies.

You will be able to communicate effectively with individuals and their families, undertake assessments of risk and need, work to fixed timescales, relate positively with colleagues across agencies and the ability to work creatively.

You will have the availability to work beyond normal hours when needs of the service and service users require this.

You will have the ability to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
