Full-Time Deputy Headteacher

Salary: L5 (£54,939) to L9 (£60,644)

(Non-class based 3 days per week, 2 days class-based)

The Headteacher and governors are looking to appoint an exceptional and ambitious individual to join our senior leadership team as the Full-Time Deputy Headteacher. This is a unique opportunity for a talented educator with a passion for driving school improvement and a desire to help our school achieve an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating.

Castor Church of England Primary School is a vibrant village school located west of Peterborough. With 179 pupils on roll, the school boasts a diverse community, with 60% of children residing within the catchment area and 40% coming from across Peterborough. The school is led by a strong Senior Leadership Team, which includes a SENDCO (2 days per week), an Assistant Headteacher who is class-based, and the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum leadership, with a focus on English and Maths
• Enhance our GDS results through strategic initiatives.
• Training and CPD lead, responsible for the professional development of our dedicated staff
• ECT Mentor, supporting the induction and growth of early career teachers
• Data analysis and intervention planning to ensure the progress and attainment of all pupils
• Non-class based 3 days per week, with 2 days spent teaching in Key Stage 2
• Have a strong grasp of educational standards and a commitment to improving student outcomes
• Support the school in raising funds through innovative ideas and specialised subject knowledge

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role or in school improvement
• Excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum and assessment frameworks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and pupils
• A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for school improvement

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience in leading curriculum development and implementation
• Expertise in data analysis and using data to inform decision-making
• Successful track record of mentoring and supporting early career teachers
• Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school community, including parents and governors
