Hays have been approached by a High School in the Blackburn area that we have worked with for a number of years, who are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants of a full-time basis. This school has an OFSTED rating of 'Good' and an excellent reputation within the local community for the level of support and education they provide to their pupils. The school has an extremely welcoming approach and now, due to planned expansion of the school, they are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants to come in and support.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the pupils, whether it be in a group or 1:1 setting, as well as supporting the class teacher across, this could be across KS3, KS4 or KS5. By being a teaching assistant, you should possess good behaviour management skills and hit the ground running by building up those relationships with pupils as well as staff. There is currently a high demand for teaching assistants in the Blackburn area, so please get in touch if you would like to know more or discuss the roles available.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children, the school are also willing to consider individuals from other various roles working with young adults, for example, support worker roles. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role, however, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, however the school are looking for someone to come in with an open mind and commit to the role.
