Summary
You will carry out holistic Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions, considering the persons physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs. You will work in a variety of settings across acute and community settings including vascular ,colorectal, medicine, major trauma, IMC and stroke . You will work with the MDT to achieve patients rehabilitation goals, facilitating discharge home or to appropriate rehabilitation settings.
You will be supervised and supported by highly skilled and experienced Band 6 and Band 7 Occupational Therapists and work collaboratively with the MDT. The Occupational Therapy Department strives for continuous service improvement and professional development is supported. We have a comprehensive preceptorship programme and place great importance upon training and supporting all members of our team.
Supporting our patients:
• Participate in the Band 5 rotation scheme within Oldham Hospital Hospital in Oldham . Potential to rotate within community services in the future.
• Provide autonomous assessments and interventions, for own designated caseload of patients; with support and supervision for more complex needs.
• Maintain clinical responsibility for own caseload and that of delegated tasks.
• Be aware of your own limitations and competency, seeking senior support when required.
• Provide support and training for junior staff and students.
The service operates over seven days and as such some weekend working is required as part of the role.
