YOS Court Officer
Description
The YOS Court Officer plays a crucial role within the Youth Offender System, serving as a primary liaison between the court, youth, families, and other stakeholders. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about advocating for youth and facilitating positive outcomes in their lives. The YOS Court Officer is responsible for overseeing case management of youth involved in the judicial system, ensuring they receive necessary support and resources. This includes conducting assessments, developing and monitoring treatment plans, and preparing reports for the court to aid in decision-making. Additionally, the officer must maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with various entities, including social services, education providers, and community organizations. The YOS Court Officer also plays a pivotal role in attending court hearings, providing testimony, and offering insights into the youth's progress and needs. Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and evaluations of youth cases to identify needs and risks.
Develop and implement individualized treatment and supervision plans based on assessment findings.
Attend and participate in court hearings, providing recommendations and updates on youth progress.
Monitor compliance with court orders and program requirements, documenting any violations or successes.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among youth, families, legal representatives, and service providers.
Prepare detailed reports for the court, summarizing case progress and recommendations for further action.
Provide crisis intervention and support to youth as needed, promoting positive decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field.
Experience working with at-risk youth or within the juvenile justice system preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with youth and families.
Demonstrated ability to assess complex situations and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
Knowledge of community resources and services available to youth and families.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate case documentation.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 08:45
End Time: 17:15
Pay Per Hour: £18.78
