Summary

Be part of our passionate dietetic team at MFT where we have vision & motivation to empower people to achieve their goals, feel better & live longer. Here you’ll enrich your career in one of the largest NHS Trusts in England. You’ll be a highly valued member of our amazingly diverse seventy strong dietetic team, who make a real difference across 4 hospital sites. Based at Trafford General Hospital, you’ll be close to vibrant Manchester, enjoying its culture and excellent transport links; whilst working in the relatively calm surroundings of a suburban hospital. As we work together to improve the services provided to our local community, you & your patients will benefit from the biggest electronic record system & innovative online patient portal.

Here you can really grow with the knowledge & guidance shared by our multi-sited dietetic working groups. Why not contribute by writing an article for our health & wellbeing newsletter or present at a CPD event.

Our coordinated preceptorship programme will assist you in the transition from learner to qualified practitioner and our well-established appraisal structure will support your personal aspirations.

Thinking about your long-term career, consider the paths of your experienced colleagues who have accessed research training, undertaken non-medical prescribing, advanced their clinical competencies, developed leadership skills, & expanded their educator abilities.

With good organisational & prioritisation skills, you’ll be a great addition to the small and friendly team at TGH covering general medicine, neurological, stroke and rehab inpatients. There will also be opportunity to develop your outpatient skills. You’ll provide exceptional nutritional care to acute wards & outpatient services.

You’ll assess the nutritional condition of patients, make dietetic diagnoses, give therapeutic treatment options, & provide evidenced-based advice. As the consistent practitioner, you’ll review outcomes, & adapt care plans to facilitate patient centred goals. Always ensuring medical, psychological, social, environmental & cultural needs are considered.

Your communication skills will produce records achieving national standards & local policy. An empathetic clinicianyou’ll build rapport & show compassion in difficult situations. You’ll deliver education programmes, developing your virtual and direct presentation skills.

As a member of multi-disciplinary services, you’ll work with highly skilled specialist nurses, doctors, speech and language therapists, podiatrists, & psychiatrists.

You require a recognised dietetics degree or equivalent & be registered with the HCPC to apply for this post.
