Summary


To support and contribute to the effective provision of a high-quality Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service as part of the Centre of Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service (COHWB). The post post-holder will have day to day responsibility for Occupational Health Clinics and a designated caseload and will be expected to provide employees with a comprehensive and confidential OH Service. COHWB provides services to the staff of the Trust and to external organisations.

Supporting and managing the junior members of the team to achieve the agreed objectives for the service.



Occupational Health Adviser will be able to:



· Support the protection and promotion of the health and wellbeing of current and prospective employees, and those from contracted and other organisations as per Trust arrangements.

· In accordance with Trust / Department policy and procedures, to deliver OH clinical activity such as, Pre-placement health clearance activity, and risk management & exposure related advice and intervention. The post -holder may be asked to support the service with management referral consultation and reporting.

· As an Occupational Health Adviser, provide evidence-based opinion, intervention and guidance to Trust management and partner organisations to support their line and risk management responsibilities, assist in safeguarding against risks arising from work and the working environment and to influence the application of safe and healthy work practices.

· Take responsibility for specific areas of occupational health service delivery and actively promote the work of the OH service by acting as a key link for managers and HR to named clinical programme groups or external clients.

· Support the OH Nurses, OH Technicians, Office Manager and Administrative Staff, and others as appropriate.

Within levels of competence, deputise for the Senior Occupational Health Adviser in their absence
