The Role:

The University is adopting a transformational strategy with lots of IT-enabled change and upgrading of legacy systems, moving to more complicated specifications and procurement challenges such as SAAS solutions and cloud provisioned services. This post will sit in the Library and Information Services Digital Solutions & Delivery team and will be instrumental in both helping deliver our strategy, but also to ensure the university achieves value for money and high-quality services from its suppliers. They will act as a key contract professional to help in progressing new contracts, in renewals and in resolving issues which may be raised by the Information Services Management Team (ISMT).

The main purpose of this role is the supplier, contract and relationship management for all IT services and systems across the University. The postholder will play a key role in the procurement process of IS services and systems, working closely with the central Procurement Team, to ensure robust requirements are provided to enable ease of contract management, ensure all IT related compliance standards are met, such as in relation to policy, security, data protection, accessibility and business continuity, and in building the relationship with new suppliers.

The postholder will assist in developing and reviewing contract terms, conditions, modifications, service standards, payment mechanisms, penalties and incentives. Working to critical deadlines, they will ensure any blockers, risks and issues are identified and that mitigation plans are developed and put in to place to enable delivery. They will also undertake market investigation to inform future business cases and work with the ISMT to predict future spend profiles.
