Our Partner School in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is delighted to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Headteacher who is passionate about supporting and leading pupils' learning journeys. You'll play a key role in creating a dynamic, inclusive learning environment within our Partner School's specialist provision for 8-16-year-olds with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As Assistant Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher to deliver exceptional standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care. Your role will involve supporting and upholding the school's core values and providing leadership that inspires both pupils and staff in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You'll be directly involved in implementing strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of high expectations, and ensuring excellent standards of achievement and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading key aspects of the school's strategic vision alongside the Headteacher and senior leadership.
- Enhancing teaching quality by engaging with pupils, overseeing support staff, and setting high standards for pupil outcomes.
- Actively contributing to a positive school culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and pupil well-being in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
- Overseeing initiatives to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and collaborating with parents to maintain cohesive home-school learning plans.
- Championing effective safeguarding, managing behaviour, and establishing a supportive learning environment in line with our Partner School's values.
In this Assistant Headteacher role, you'll also have extensive opportunities for professional development, collaborating with schools across the trust. You will play a vital role in shaping the academic and pastoral development of our pupils, providing them with the skills they need to succeed in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and beyond.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in relevant key stages.
- Proven experience in teaching and school development planning, with knowledge of curriculum design and data use to raise standards.
- A strong background in safeguarding, SEND, and experience in managing challenging behaviour.
- Leadership experience with skills in collaboration, mentoring, and contributing to a positive school culture.
