A Vacancy at Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
We are recruiting for a new Highly Specialist CAMHS Clinician to our NCL wide Community Eating Difficulties Service for a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover.
The successful candidate will have a passion for and experience in working with early onset Eating Difficulties and ARFID and will lead a team of 4 clinicians working alongside Community CAMHS teams in the NCL.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of the will work in partnership with Clinical Service Lead and the Lead Clinician to ensure excellent clinical standards are maintained within the team, and ensure the best use of available resources by delivering positive outcomes for individual service users and their families. They will also be responsible for the contributing to the continued development of the service.
The postholder will provide clinical leadership to the NCL Eating Difficulties Service for young people aged 8-18 years with a GP in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. They will manage and supervise 4 specialist CYP CAMHS Practitioners from varied professional backgrounds who will be co-located between the Tavistock and Portman and placed within CAMHS services across North Central London.
As we are a psychological therapies service, the team does not accept referrals for individuals with high levels of medical risk relating to their eating disorder however we work closely with the NCL Eating Disorder Service at the Royal Free and GP’s to ensure that young people referred to us with higher medical needs can access the appropriate level of support.
We offer a range of evidence based treatments for different eating difficulties. Treatment will be tailored to individual needs but all of our interventions aim to help young people and their families understand their problems and develop the skills to regulate your eating, manage difficult emotions and improve body image. We also provide support for parents of children with sensory based food avoidance or ARFID.
The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development of the Service, working closely with service users and stakeholders to ensure the Service continues to meet the needs of young people in the NCL.
