Summary
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Senior/Design Engineer – Electrical to strengthen the engineering team.
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, hybrid working available.

Senior/Design Engineer – Electrical role:
• Report directly to the Principal Engineer and be responsible for delivering exceptional engineering design services.
• Coordinate and produce high-quality design documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry standards to minimise project risks and maximise profitability.
Senior/Design Engineer – Electrical responsibilities:
• Produce cost-effective designs that meet specifications and are easily constructible and commissionable, consider all associated costs to optimise the design solution.
• Provide estimates and feedback for Proposals department.
• Work to improve department processes and procedures, including developing, monitoring, and reviewing them.
• Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
• Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts and assure customer satisfaction.
• Minimise waste and incorporate environmental considerations into all designs.
• Maintain a personal development plan and assist in supervising and developing staff.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements.
Senior/Design Engineer – Electrical requirements:
• Knowledge of water and sewage treatment principles.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff in water and sewage treatment plant design.
• Relevant Engineering HND (Minimum).
• Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
• Effective technical presentation skills.
• Driving license
• Relevant Engineering Degree (Preferable).
• Membership of a professional engineering institution (Preferable).
