We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Operative to deliver excellent service standards for the delivery of routine planned cleaning for a Mitie customer. You should always ensure the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting all SLA agreements whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules.

Your role will include using cleaning materials in a safe manner while adhering to safety rules and regulations. You will take instructions from the Cleaning Supervisor and carry out these instructions in an efficient and professional manner. You will replenish hand towels, toilet roll and soap, as well as emptying bins. You will also sweep, vacuum, polish and dust designated areas, while using necessary power equipment such as floor buffers, carpet machines and professional cleaning equipment. You will be required to collect and return the security keys and report any defects or occurrences directly to the Cleaning Supervisor, such as emergencies, floods, intruders or accidents. You will also support students experience, by providing exceptional customer service and care, and reporting any welfare concerns.

You will have ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team. You must be capable of working to their own initiative where appropriate. You should be reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.

The ideal candidate will be able to understand written and verbal instruction, use cleaning equipment and be a reliable and self motivated individual. The candidate should be able to work additional hours where appropriate (during summer months), be committed to providing a high standard of customer service and be able to move 15kg according to health and safety guidelines.

Desirable attributes for the candidate would include awareness of confidentiality issues faced by cleaning staff, knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety issues, and previous experience in a cleaning or health and safety environment. A NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Cleaning Science or BICS is also desirable.
