Summary

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced and dedicated Nursing Home Catering Manager to provide high-quality meals and nutrition to a large nursing home in Oldham. The ideal candidate will possess strong catering and food preparation skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living at the home. This includes knowledge and experience of preparing specialist meals in line with clinical guidance, cultural needs and dietary requirements. This role involves working closely with residents and families, ensuring they receive the necessary support.

Duties

Oversee and assist with daily food preparation and menu delivery, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Provide guidance and support to care and nursing staff regarding dietary management and wellness practices.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement specialist nutrition/ dietary plans tailored to individual needs.
Supervise and lead a small team of cooks and catering assistants, fostering an environment of teamwork and effective communication.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with CQC regulations and company policy
Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents, staff and visitors, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Food hygiene level 2 as minimum
Previous experience in care and nursing home settings is preferred
Strong culinary skills, including food preparation and knowledge of dietary requirements, are advantageous.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
IT, budget management and ordering required
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents , their families and colleagues across the home
Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for meal preparation tasks.
Ability to work independently while managing time effectively in a dynamic environment.
