Summary



Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users

The Security Officer will need to control the safe access/egress to designated venues in line with current procedures and client requirements, to maintain good order and public safety at client's premises, To take all reasonable and required measures to protect the Clients property, staff and visitors.

It is important that candidates possess good customer service skills, pay attention to details and possess security experience preferably within an educational environment.

Position: Security Officer

Location: London (SE1)

Pay Rate: £13.15 per hour

Hours: 47.5 hours

Shifts: Various - Must be available Days & Nights

Job Role / Requirements:

-SIA DS Licence required

-Security Experience is required - Corporate or University sector is ideal

-Reliable, Responsible and Punctual

-To have a smart appearance befitting the company

-Excellent communication both written & verbal

-Strong IT ability - including Excel, Word, Outlook (essential)

-Excellent levels of customer service at all times

-Able to work in a team as well as on your own

-To be able to stand/walk for extended periods when asked

-Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site.

-First Aid Certificate, Evac Chair training and CCTV Licence would be desirable.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for the security of the University Campus

-Officers are required to lock and unlock buildings when necessary.

-To maintain regular building patrols, looking for faults and/or security risks/concerns.

-To be vigilant, provide a high visibility presence and to deter and prevent crime.

-To effectively log and immediately escalate faults with building or security/FOH systems

-To proactively monitor CCTV cameras (if applicable)

-Ensure incidents are escalated to management immediately and incident reports are completed in a timely fashion as per on site guidance.

-To be IT literate and be able to use MS Office package

-To man the main Reception/front desk/back of house, conducting Meet & greet and signing in staff, students, contractors and visitors when receptionist is not present.

-To effectively manage the issuance of keys / passes and registers when manning the reception in accordance with site standards.

-To receive deliveries and deal with onsite contractors ensuring they are appropriately vetted before allowing access

-Ensure a thorough handover is maintained and conducted with the Officer/Receptionist of the previous shift and all relevant occurrences are escalated to management and recorder in the Daily Occurrence Book.

-Carry out random spot checks on student, visitors and contractorsDs and reporting any findings.

-To respond to requests for assistance from Staff, Students, Visitors and Contractors.

-Officers must have a good understanding of how to operate the intruder alarm panels and know how to respond to alarm activations and to determine the appropriate course of action.

-Respond to all emergencies in accordance with the Emergency Procedures

-To respond to all building alarms (Fire / BMS / Access control / Lifts / Disabled Toilets / Refuge Area) and alerts and liaise with management.

-The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, (lone working) safety and wellbeing and that of work colleagues, visitors (VIP), staff, students and contractors to the campus.

-To observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of the site

-Must complete any other task directed by team leader or senior management that is deemed a reasonable request.

-Post holder to comply with the University's Policies, including but not limited to Data Protection, Security, Safeguarding and H&S Policies at all times.
