We are looking for a Project Support Officer to support the delivery of exciting, innovative projects including schemes that reduce the risk of flooding to communities and enhance the environment. This is a key role enabling us as a team to deliver on our ambitious targets.
You will support Project Managers to deliver their projects or complete office administrative tasks for the whole team. You will become involved in a range of activities such as handling and processing data, tracking finances, setting up new project workspaces, organising meetings and taking minutes, preparing notice of entry letters and public newsletters, ordering site signage, running reports, and accompanying Project Managers on site visits.
You’ll develop your interpersonal skills, building a network of relationships. You will learn how to apply EA legislation, policy and guidance and use your communication skills with landowners and local communities to agree land access and help at community meetings. As you grow in confidence, we’ll support your ambitions, helping you use the experience as a springboard for your career.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
PCM provide project and programme management capability, delivering projects for the local Area. Our well-qualified award-winning teams manage a wide range of projects throughout their lifecycle to deliver outcomes for flood risk and resilience, wildlife, nature, and our communities. This post sits within a team of 10-15 Project Executives, Project Managers and Project Support Officers who manage the day-to-day delivery of projects within our flood & coastal erosion risk management programme using our framework suppliers.
• A Levels (or equivalent) are desirable
• Positive, proactive, and enthusiastic
• Innovative and able to improve existing processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organised, ability to use initiative and manage own time
• Able and willing to coordinate activities with others
• Proficient in use of the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular PowerPoint, Excel and MS Teams
• Knowledge or experience in the use of SharePoint would be advantageous but not essential
• An ability to analyse, interpret and display data, so it can be effectively presented preferred
• Some knowledge or experience of commercial and contract management and financial processes would be useful
• Able to work under pressure, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
