This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of professionals committed to supporting children and young people with endocrine disorders or diabetes.

We are a leading service in the East of England and have been recognised as a centre of clinical excellence with research expertise in both Diabetes and Paediatric Endocrinology.

We provide state-of-the-art family centred inpatient and ambulatory care to children from birth to age 19 years old, across the full spectrum of endocrine disorders, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and other types of diabetes such as MODY and neonatal diabetes.

This role is suitable for a subspecialty accredited Paediatric Endocrinologist or an individual with equivalent experience. As part of the Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital you will share Consultant responsibilities relating to the service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient responsibilities and out-of-hours cover in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes.

You should be capable of working independently while exercising diligence to prioritise the workload to meet changing demands within the service. Previous experience in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes is essential. Excellent communication skills are imperative. Research or teaching experience are desired.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Paediatrics or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

It is a requirement for skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
