More about the role:As our Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing and delivering all matchday and non-matchday conferences and events at Edgbaston. You will lead a dedicated operations team to ensure seamless execution across a range of events, including corporate meetings, exhibitions, weddings, and large-scale conferences. This is a key role that requires both strategic leadership and operational excellence.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations for all C&E and Hospitality, ensuring high-quality standards and guest satisfaction
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of event operations staff, ensuring performance goals are met
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and catering teams to deliver exceptional event experiences
  • Implement processes and procedures to drive operational efficiency and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and clients to enhance the site reputation as a premier event venue
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for C&E and Hospitality operations, ensuring profitability and cost control
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in event delivery and guest services
About you:
  • Proven experience in catering or hospitality management, preferably in a high-volume venue or event environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks in a dynamic setting
  • Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and exceeding expectations
  • A mindset that pushes boundaries and shares knowledge, always pushing for positive change and never accepting second best
