What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for inspirational part time teachers for our English-French Bilingual Stream.

You do not need to be able to speak French.

Our school is truly unique, as we offer pupils the opportunity to be educated in a bilingual setting. Working in partnership with a French primary school, École de Wix, we offer a bilingual stream, which is very popular with local families. Pupils in this stream are taught one week in English by a teacher in our team, and the following week in French, taught by a teacher from École de Wix. The curriculum has been specially designed to meet the expectations of both the English and French National Curriculum. It is a very exciting stream to work in.

Children thrive at our school because they are well cared for. Our amazing teachers are determined to ensure every pupil is provided with the best education possible. Leaders ensure teachers are very well supported to do be the best they can be. If this sounds like the type of school you would like to work in, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you love learning and think teaching is one of the most precious jobs in the world, please come and see our wonderful school. Our door is always open, so come and have a look. We would love to show you around.

What the school offers its staff

Belleville Wix Academy opened in September 2017 as part of the Q1E Trust. We firmly believe that “the quality of a school cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” and invest in our staff from the moment they join us. The career opportunities for staff across the trust are exceptional. To find the best teachers, we shortlist and arrange interviews on receipt of applications.

Being located between the bustling centre of Battersea and the open space of Clapham Common, transport links are great. Our school has a unique 'bicultural' ethos as we share our site and work very closely with a French primary school, École de Wix but you don’t need to speak French to work with us.

Q1E provides clear structures, excellent resources and outstanding professional development for staff. All teachers new to the Trust receive pre-induction training before starting in post. For Early Career Teachers, this means three weeks of paid training in July once you have finished your teacher training. We are an outward facing trust and we believe in learning from the best schools and systems - you will have lots of opportunity to watch outstanding practice and get involved in wider projects across our dynamic Trust.
