THE CONTEXT:
The Redeemed Assemblies Canaanland is a vibrant and welcoming UK UK-registered religious Charity dedicated to the general well-being of the residents of Newham, Waltham Forest and the neighbourhoods, with no distinction to gender, sexual orientation, race, social, cultural, political, religious, or other opinions and preferences. Working in partnership with the residents, the local authorities, NGOs, voluntary and other organizations. We promote inclusive community capacity building, social cohesion, and better welfare to improve the living conditions of residents. The Redeemed Assemblies operate viable Community Churches and Community foodbanks that care for the public and primarily for the unemployed, homeless, destitute, people without Recourse to Public Funds and low-income families. We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated and talented music minister to join our team and lead our congregation in worship through music.
Job Description: We are looking for a spirit-filled, dynamic and skilled Music Minister who is experienced in modern Afro-Christian songs, can play at least two musical instruments proficiently and can teach others. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading worship services, directing the choir and musical ensembles, as well as helping in fostering a deep sense of worship within the church community.
Key Qualifications, Skills, and Responsibilities:
• Ideal candidates must be born-again Christian.
• Collaborate with the pastoral team to plan and execute all Church music programs, worship, and other special events.
• Supervise and coordinate the Music, Choir, and Worship Units of the church
Take charge of the weekly rehearsals of the church choir and instrumentalists
• Play at least two musical instruments proficiently.
• Have a good knowledge of Church Music and Afro-Christian Songs
• Teach and mentor other musicians and choir members.
• Develop and organise choir and musical ensembles.
• Forster the spirit of deep worship and community through music.
• Maintain and care for the musical instruments and equipment.
• Previous experience as a music minister is required.
• Good computer skills, and proficiency with social media.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must pass criminal background checks.
• Available to work weekends and public holidays.
• Demonstrable gifts and calling for music ministry
• An ability to maintain professional boundaries when working with people.
• Understanding and knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
• A commitment and ability to work with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
