Are you passionate about delivering high-quality products and creating seamless customer experiences? At Alpkit, we’re seeking a Clothing Merchandiser to join our team and help drive our product strategy. You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our customers have access to the best outdoor gear, whether they’re seasoned adventurers or just getting started.

Alpkit is dedicated to making the outdoors accessible to all. We offer sustainably produced, high-performance gear at affordable prices, and our mission is to inspire more people to engage in outdoor activities. As part of the merchandising team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering this mission by ensuring our product selection reflects the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Planning & Strategy
• Analyse sales data to identify product trends and opportunities, ensuring our product assortment aligns with customer demand.
• Manage the full lifecycle of products, from initial order placement to ensuring all product information is accurate and up to date.
• Work alongside the Head of Supply Chain and leadership team to place, review and approve orders, keeping track of cost prices, margins, and sell prices.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective practices.

Inventory Management:
• Monitor stock levels to maintain optimal inventory, staying within set budgets and minimising overstock or stock-out situations.
• Forecast product demand and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure discontinued lines are managed and cleared in line with company policy.
• Keep all stock arrival dates and shipping details accurate, submitting shipping proposals for review.

Sales & Stock Reporting:
• Maintain up-to-date WSSI (Weekly Sales & Stock Intake) figures across categories and subcategories, ensuring alignment with sales targets and business goals.
• Conduct regular reviews of stock versus sales (SvS) to ensure stock levels are in line with demand forecasts.
• Communicate with management when WSSI and sales forecasts exceed or fall below business targets.

Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, and supply chain to ensure a seamless flow of product from supplier to customer.
• Participate in team meetings, providing updates on merchandising strategies and contributing to broader business initiatives.
• Ensure all stakeholders are informed of key developments related to stock, product range, and pricing.

What You’ll Bring:
• Proven experience in merchandising or inventory management, ideally in Clothing and/or the outdoor gear sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Experience working with suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing stock flow.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• A passion for the outdoors and a strong alignment with Alpkit’s sustainability values.
