In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecom systems, from VoIP to unified communications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

You’ll troubleshoot issues, work on system upgrades, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge telecom solutions. Your expertise will help us maintain secure, reliable, and efficient communication channels that keep our business connected.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing the Cisco telecommunications infrastructure, however there is also a requirement for PBX, VoIP, WAN/LAN, and wireless network support. You will oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of these systems, ensuring optimal performance to support the communication needs of clinical staff, administrative personnel, and patients.

In addition to managing telecommunications hardware and software, you will play a crucial role in ensuring network security. This will involve implementing and enforcing security measures to protect telecommunications networks from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches. Your adherence to NHS security policies and industry best practices will be essential in safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

As a Senior IT Communications Engineer, you will also provide technical support to resolve telecommunications issues and incidents promptly. You will conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and address underlying problems, minimizing downtime and disruptions to essential healthcare services. Your ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and clinical staff, will be vital in delivering timely and effective solutions.
