Summary

We are delighted to be recruiting a new diabetes dietetic role for Ealing Hospital. This dietitian will join the existing diabetes dietitians working at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals and will join a well-established diabetes MDT at Ealing Hospital. As this is a new post for Ealing there will be a need to map the service needs, identify priorities and establish the dietetic service. This providesan excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to develop their clinical leadership skills.

You will be required to provide evidence based dietetic advice to adults with diabetes. A knowledge of carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring is required. The role would have a great mix of one-to-one clinics and diabetes group education, including DAFNE and carbohydrate counting sessions delivered virtually and face to face.

As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the Dietetic team. You will support the Team Lead in monitoring, developing and evolving the dietetic service and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team.

We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, team working and leadership skills with a passion for Diabetes. They should be focused on providing a high quality dietetic service which is evidence based and responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the other Diabetes Dietitians within the Trust and lead on clinical and service development projects. Together, you will be the experts on nutrition in this field, and will seek opportunities within the MDT to lead on service improvement, audit and research, raising the profile of Dietetics within the team and organisation.

The LNWH dietetic team is a large, dynamic and friendly department of dietitians, dietetic assistants and administrators based across at Northwick Park, St Marks, Ealing Hospitals and CMH.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.

Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.

We run major acute services at:

• Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country’s top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK

• St Mark’s Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease

• Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice

• Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.

We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.
