Summary


We currently have a position available for a floater Ward Clerk.

Working days are not fixed days, Working hours are inclusive of bank Holidays and working one in every Fourth weekend.

Role is for 30 hours , and it is to cover 7am -7pm over 2 long days and one half day. ( Monday to Sunday).

The job purpose will be to act as the front line member for the ward by providing an effective reception service to visitors and staff, promoting a professional image at all times.

To maintain a high level of patient care / customer service on the ward.

To provide administrative support to the nursing staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• To act as a receptionist / first point of contact for all visitors to the ward creating a welcoming, professional image at all times.
• To effectively organise your workload under your own initiative, without the need of supervision.
• To maintain a tidy, welcoming day room area updating leaflet displays / notice boards etc.
• To book transport for patients for discharge through electronic system.
• Answer the telephone for the department and deal with any queries either by providing the correct information or by referring the call on to the appropriate member of staff.
• Take accurate messages when necessary.
• To book ward discharge follow up appointments using the ICS system as requested by the nursing staff.
• Photocopy patient information and other documents as requested.
• Ensure case notes are tracked and processed appropriately.
• To organise and help maintain an efficient reception area / nurses’ station as part of the Productive Ward initiatives.
